Lee Hostetler has seen more rinks than most players dream of. From long weekends spent hauling gear to AAA showcases, to crossing the border for the Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament, he grew up on the road with hockey as both passport and compass. His trunk at home is filled with jerseys, pins, and tournament souvenirs — each one a story from a different stop along the way.
Hostetler carved out a role as the ultimate utility man. Coaches loved him because he could play anywhere in the lineup: center one game, winger the next, even a shift or two on defense if someone got hurt. That adaptability became his trademark, and it still defines his style today.
On the ice, he’s a strong two-way presence. He backchecks hard, keeps his stick in the right lanes, and chips in offensively when the chance comes. He’s not the flashiest, but he’s reliable, and in hockey that counts for a lot. Off the ice, he’s known for spinning road trip stories — the bus rides, the snowstorms, the motels with broken vending machines. Lee Hostetler plays for the love of the game, but also for the journey, because for him the road has always been part of the reward.
